These stars are quite small and are easy to make! They serve as nice gifts and can be made into a variety of sizes.
The smallest one I have made so far is about 1 cm long, and the biggest one is about 3 cm long. Using one US letter size paper, I made 14 stars.
Start with a 0.5 in. by 8 1/2 in. strip of paper (about 1.5 mm by 21.5 mm).
Tie a knot close to one end of the paper so that it looks like a pentagon. Make a soft crease.
Fold the short bit of paper under the two layers.
Fold the long piece of paper around the pentagon and continue until it becomes a short stub.
Fold the stub under the two layers and crease.
Now, inflate the pentagon by squishing four of the edges with your fingers.
Finally, squish the last edge and shape if needed.
